Savills appoints new director in sustainable design team
Savills has appointed Ioannis Protonotarios as an associate director in its sustainable design consultancy, within its Savills Earth division. The team has grown by seven over the past 12 months.
Protonotarios has more than 10 years’ experience working in the residential and commercial sectors, providing sustainable, healthy, low-energy and low-carbon buildings to improve the built environment, tackle the climate emergency and meet net-zero carbon commitments.
Prior to joining Savills, he was head of sustainability at Mendick Waring, a building engineering consultancy. Here, he led a team on energy and sustainability strategies, overheating and thermal comfort assessments, daylight assessments, EPC assessments, net-zero carbon strategies, operational energy analysis, as well as BREEAM assessments, to create future-proofed developments.
“I am very excited to be joining Savills Earth, bringing my engineering design experience and skills to deliver more low-carbon buildings that provide the people within them and around them with healthier and more sustainable environments,” said Protonotarios.
The Savills Earth team is expanding because “we continue to see demand from developers, investors and occupiers focusing on ESG factors in their transactions and portfolios in order to reach net-zero emissions”, said director, Dan Jestico.
