I Squared names Ben Harper first Head of Sustainability

I Squared Capital, a global infrastructure investment firm with over $40 billion in assets under management, has announced the appointment of Ben Harper as its first Head of Sustainability, based in the firm’s Miami office.

Harper holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University. His previous roles include Managing Director, Head of ESG at Stonepeak, and Head of Corporate Sustainability at Zurich North America Insurance, where he led the development of Zurich’s sustainability strategy, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and climate targets. He also contributed to the advancement of risk transfer products supporting carbon transition, including solutions for renewable energy and alternative funding structures for Clean Development Mechanism projects.
Harper also contributed to public policy and industry best practices through his involvement with the White House Interagency CCS Task Force, the EU’s Zero Emission Platform and several advisory boards, including the American Society of Civil Engineers Infrastructure Resilience Division and the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment Infrastructure Advisory Committee.
