Ex-CBRE IM Senior Director Robbie Epsom joins Karteria Partners as co-founder

Robbie Epsom, formerly EMEA Head of Sustainability and Senior Director at CBRE Investment Management, has joined Karteria Partners as Co-Founder. Karteria Partners is a fractional operating partner firm providing senior leadership across the real asset, sustainability and climate-tech sectors. Epsom joins founding partners Philippa Gill and Meike Borchers to complete the leadership team of the newly launched partnership. All three co-founders operate independent portfolio careers, collaborating under the Karteria Partners brand to deploy senior professionals directly into board and operational roles across investment platforms, fund managers and climate-tech ventures.

The move reflects a broader shift towards the portfolio career model in real asset leadership. Rather than a traditional advisory practice, Karteria operates across four engagement models – fractional operating partner, non-executive director, board and venture advisor, and executive advisory – embedding senior judgment into client organisations with direct accountability for outcomes.

Epsom brings over 18 years of experience spanning sustainability strategy, climate risk and investment management across European real asset markets and the wider economy. He holds a MEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering alongside the designations of Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Fellow of the Institution of Environmental Sciences (FIEnvSci), and serves as Board Director and Co-Vice Chair of the Institution of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (ICRS), where he is also a Fellow (FICRS). He was awarded the MIPIM ESG Leadership Award 2025 and named Environmental Professional of the Year 2025 by the Society for the Environment (SocEnv).

Since launching, Epsom has secured engagements including advisory partner roles with VerusSol, an Amsterdam-based building-integrated renewables specialist, and BuildingMinds, a Berlin-headquartered PropTech platform, alongside mandates with an infrastructure investment manager and several professional institutes. He has also joined the ESG Stewardship Advisory Board at Berkeley Capital Group, continued as Expert Advisor to the Earthshot Prize for a second year, and co-authored chapters on ESG integration in real estate for two forthcoming publications.
