CRREM Foundation appoints Michael Hogenboom Director of Data, Impact & Innovation

The CRREM Foundation has announced the appointment of Michael Hogenboom as Director of Data, Impact & Innovation, as the organization moves toward an open-contribution research model for development of its transition pathways.
The Foundation’s open-contribution model invites data platforms, government entities, building owners, associations, and research institutions to voluntarily contribute data and intel into the CRREM Pathway development process, subject to independent technical review and quality standards. The move builds on the recent launch of three Regional Advisory Committees and advances CRREM’s ambition to combine global scientific rigor with grounded market input.
“We see our role as a facilitator of scientific development, and the open-contribution model is how we bring that to life: drawing on the best available data and insights from across the globe to strengthen the pathways the market depends on”, said Andrea Palmer, CEO. CRREM Foundation. “Michael is exactly the person to build that engine. His appointment signals we are serious about analytical rigor, robust process and governance, and the quality of every output.”
Hogenboom will shape CRREM’s global data strategy and build the partnerships and technical infrastructure the open-contribution model requires. He brings more than a decade of experience across sustainability strategy, data science, and partnerships. Prior to CRREM, he helped build the sustainability practice at Celonis, the world’s leading process mining platform, where he used data and technology to drive sustainability transformation of complex multinational supply chains. Earlier in his career, Michael applied data science to the built environment at the Axians Urban Science innovation hub. He holds degrees in Spaceflight & Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
“I’ve spent my career at the intersection of people, data, and technology — bridging sustainability and financial decision-making”, said Michael Hogenboom. “I am excited to help deepen market involvement and collaboration around CRREM’s science-based pathways, and to build the data ecosystem that enables them to be developed with the best inputs from across the globe. The open-contribution model is how we get there.”
