CA Immo to develop €300m Berlin bank headquarters

Vienna-headquartered investor-developer CA Immo is to build the new Berlin headquarters of Deutsche Kreditbank and has just broken ground on the site which is located on the Nordhafen waterfront in the city’s Europacity district.

The new €300 million complex, dubbed Upbeat, will comprise 35,000 sq m of leasable space and will open at the end of 2025.

CA Immo CEO Andreas Quint said that the fact that DKB, present in the city for 30 years, has signed a 15-year lease demonstrates that “despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the trend towards mobile working, the office will remain the central location for collaboration, communication and knowledge transfer for companies in the future.”

Berlin architect Kleihues + Kleihues has designed Upbeat which will be sustainable and fully digitised .

CA Immo will seek a gold WELL Core certification for the building and said it is striving to achieve at least a gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and a platinum WiredScore certificate.

The project is CA Immo’s tenth development in Europacity and it has an existing portfolio of 16 buildings in Berlin with a total lettable area of 219,000 sq m. Excluding Upbeat, it has three buildings totalling 51,000 sq m under construction in the city.
