Stifel names Martina Ecker MD to support the transition to clean energies in Europe

Stifel Financial Corporation has announced the appointment of Dr Martina Ecker as Managing Director in its Diversified Industries investment banking team. In her new role, she will advise on transactions in the industrial technology sector, including those supporting the clean energy transition in Europe, strengthening Stifel’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Based in Frankfurt, Dr Ecker brings more than 25 years of sector-focused investment banking experience, advising corporates, private equity and entrepreneurs on a range of transactions in the industrial technology space.
“The path to the energy transition has not always been a smooth one in recent years,” said Ecker. “But the market is maturing and this year, we will see investor interest returning to the core sub-verticals. Success in 2026 requires the ability to navigate a market that is both invigorated and structurally more complex. Stifel’s full-service investment banking platform provides the ideal foundation for clients to ‘think big’ again and capture the momentum of this resurgent market.”
Dr Ecker is recognised as one of the DACH region’s leading industrial technology advisors. During her tenure at Citi, she was a Managing Director in the EMEA Clean Energy Transition Team, advising clients ranging from mid-size companies to large multinationals.
She previously held similar roles at US investment banks Lincoln International and Jefferies, supporting both industrial tech and clean tech companies. Earlier in her career, Dr Ecker was a Partner and Head of the European Corporate Finance Technology team at KPMG.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management and a Master’s in Social and Economic Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
“We are delighted to have Dr Ecker join us at Stifel,” said Phil McCreanor, European Head of Diversified Industries, Stifel. “She brings a wealth of experience and deep sector knowledge to support the ambitions of our clients in the DACH region and beyond. The convergence of technology on the industrial sector, combined with the challenges of the transition to clean energies, are core thematics for the European market.”
