Granger and Lown expand TFT’s ESG offer
TFT, the independent real estate and construction consultancy, has promoted Neil Granger to head of sustainability, while Mat Lown takes a new role on TFT’s executive board as chief knowledge and ESG officer.
In his new role as head of sustainability, Granger will be leading TFT’s collected sustainability services, including life-cycle carbon, energy performance, circular economy and climate change adaptation consultancy, across all of TFT’s 11 offices in the UK and Ireland.
Granger, who was previously the lead for TFT’s energy and carbon and MEP projects service lines, applies his technical background in multidisciplinary settings to support major property transactions and projects for our clients across a wide client portfolio.
“As an engineer by training, I have spent decades solving complex building challenges and firmly believe that advice with a broader viewpoint is always better,” said Granger. “Creating more resilient, sustainable buildings means bringing plenty of ambition to every stage of the building life cycle, putting refurbishment and retrofit at the top of our agenda, and making sure that sustainability specialists, engineers, surveyors and project managers keep doing great work side by side.”
Holistic approach to TFT strategy
Lown’s role on the executive board is a newly formed position taking a holistic approach across the business to drive TFT’s strategy for creating resilient and sustainable buildings with every service it provides. He will be responsible for ensuring TFT’s 180-strong team continues to lead as sustainability experts in the sector and, to that end, has developed an industry-leading proprietary training platform that is being rolled out across the business.
“We need to keep evolving and pushing our team to be able to help our clients bridge the huge sustainability knowledge gap and edge closer to net-zero targets,” Lown said.
“Within TFT, we can make sure every technical expert adopts sustainability within their existing role so that we can add value to our clients, to improve buildings at any stage in their life cycle: from development or acquisition, through use, to retrofit or selling.”
