Affordable housing, JLL sets up new dedicated team in Wales

JLL has strengthened its UK affordable housing business with the establishment of a dedicated team based in Cardiff, marking a strategic expansion of its service offering in Wales and across the UK.
The move brings new senior leadership to JLL’s affordable housing division and expands its capacity to support valuation, transaction, development advisory and advisory services for housing associations, public bodies and institutional investors.
The consultancy has appointed four new posts to join its established office in Wales, bringing the number of affordable housing professionals nationwide to more than 70, a network that covers the Midlands. Northern England and Scotland.
JLL’s new hires are all moving over from Avison Young. The team is led by Nick Worman as senior director, Charles Kaminaris as director, Lisa Roberts as associate director and Stuart Randall as associate.
Their combined experience enhances JLL’s ability to provide specialist services in an area that intersects widely with public sector, housing association and institutional investor activity.
The new recruits “bring a wealth of exceptional expertise in affordable housing valuation services across Wales and the broader UK market”, said Marc Burns, Head of Affordable Housing, JLL. “ocal knowledge and understanding remain fundamental to our client service model. Having successfully expanded our affordable housing operations across the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland, our new colleagues will allow us to deliver a truly comprehensive and integrated national service built upon our long-established regional platform.”
The Cardiff location places the team closer to a growing number of housing delivery programmes and partnerships emerging in South Wales and neighbouring regions, JLL said. There is an ongoing push to tackle affordable housing challenges in the UK. Across many regions local authorities and registered providers are accelerating programmes to increase housing supply in response to long‑standing structural shortages.
JLL’s affordable housing team values nearly one million homes throughout the UK each year, and offers loan security valuation, transaction support, bond issuance, development consultancy and land acquisition advisory services for housing associations.
