Retail begins its slow ascent and France leads the way: AEW

Although the proportion of total retail sales comprised by e-commerce in Europe is set to increase from 16% (2024) to 20% by 2029, in-store retail sales are expected to stabilise with an annual growth rate of around 0.6% pa over the next five years and prime retail rents are projected to grow at an average of 1.3% pa for the next five years, according to AEW research.
