Koblenz deal boosts Beos Logistics’ development rosta

Swiss Life Asset Managers company Beos Logistics has acquired a 100,000 sq m commercial site in Polch, west of Koblenz, Germany, where it plans to build a 20,000 sq m logistics facility to add to existing facilities on the land.

The site already contains a 10,200 sq m office building and an 18,500 sq m warehouse. LZP Logistikzentrum Polch sold the property.

“This transaction gives us access to an area that is extremely attractive for logistics use due to its location between the two metropolitan areas Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main,” said Ingo Steves, managing partner of Beos Logistics.

Proximity to both regions makes the property suitable for logistics firms serving the parcel and general cargo sectors as well as retail. Rhine port Koblenz is the regional logistical hotspot and together with the Rhine port Andernach, creates multimodal transport options using water, rail and road.

Construction is expected to start in the spring and negotiations are underway to let the new space.

Beos Logistics also recently acquired a 165,000 sq m site on which an 85,000 sq m facility will be built at DeltaPort on the lower Rhine in Wesel near Duisburg, and a 100,000 sq m site near Düsseldorf where a 50,000 sq m building will be constructed.
