Student occupancy back to pre-pandemic levels: Bonard

The student housing market in Europe has recovered to its pre-pandemic levels of occupancy according to Julia Momotiuk, rented residential director at research firm Bonard.

“We have approached main PBSA providers that cater to over 100,000 student beds across Europe,” Momotiuk said. “We’ve actually seen over 95% level of occupancy so residencies are full.”

She said that what is more interesting is that this level is higher than in the previous year. “The sector was quite resilient during the pandemic. We’ve seen quite strong occupancy levels but now we are actually back to the pre-pandemic level so the level of occupancy increased from 80%-plus to now over 95%”.
