While surveys of opinions among German real estate professionals reveal that they are optimistic about the real estate market “post-covid”, sentiment about the current situation among different market segments is mixed. Garbe Industrial Real Estate research head Tobias Kassner explained the situation during the recent Realx.Global virtual property event.
Kassner draws comparisons with the effects of the global financial crisis. Plotting sentiment toward the different market segments he demonstrates the consistent strength of residential real estate in Germany, the rise of the logistics sector in the period since 2008, and the sudden decline in enthusiasm for offices and hotels.
