‘Huge potential’ if resi investors address social side of ESG
Residential property investors have “huge potential” to deliver impact both environmentally and socially says Immo Capital chief investment officer Samantha Kempe.
“There’s already a lot being talked about around green credentials and people are already relatively focused on improving that side of ESG,” she explained to Real Asset Insight’s Richard Betts. “But I would love to see the markets put more effort and emphasis on the social impact side.”
Affordable housing is part of the response, but she thinks it should go further.
“We’ve really got a responsibility to not only think about just the product and services that we’re delivering to individual tenants, but also thinking about how our investments impact and benefit the broader communities that ultimately we are financially benefiting from.”
