Commercial car parks assist transition to electric vehicles

Parking and mobility markets are really driven by the underlying income produced by car parks, explained Primevest Capital Partners’ Bas Magielse.

Magielse, who is the company’s head of parking and mobility, said this income is a result of cars having to go into cities in growing numbers and the pressure on cities to get them off the street and into car parks.

“We see new elements coming in,” Magielse said. “Last mile solutions with some pickup boxes again provide for additional income streams for car parks.”

But one of the main trends is EV charging. “Car parks are really transforming into some kind of mobility hubs or charging hubs thus they are catering for the transition to EV cars.”
