Census shows data, power, ESG key to fit-for-purpose logistics
Among the key takeaways from the recent European Logistics Real Estate Census results, at least for Tritax EuroBox fund manager Nick Preston, is that occupiers need buildings that are truly fit for purpose for the modern age.
The findings of the census, which has been produced by Savills, Tritax EuroBox and business intelligence firm Analytiqa, were published recently and presented online on the REALX.Global platform.
Speaking to Real Asset Insight’s Richard Betts, Preston explained that logistics space needs to be able to accept automation redily as well as having good data connectivity, resilient power supplies and very high ESG credentials.
“Not only energy-saving measures, but also on the social side of things, making these buildings good places to work. Staff retention and employment levels was another theme that came through in the survey – having very high quality modern buildings that are good places to work is essential.”
