HSBC’s Featherstone joins debt team at CBRE Capital Advisors
CBRE has appointed Matthew Featherstone as an executive director in its debt and structured finance team which is part of CBRE Capital Advisors.
Featherstone most recently served as managing director for HSBC, and was formerly head of real estate for global banking, UK, where he oversaw real estate clients and real estate lending exposures for the division.
Featherstone has over 16 years’ of banking experience, including 13 years covering the real estate market, with extensive experience in debt origination across private and public clients and the various subsectors.
Featherstone’s recruitment follows the appointment of Chris Gow last year, who joined as an executive director to lead debt advisory for CBRE’s operational real estate business.
“Availability of bank debt is one of the biggest questions facing investors in the current climate and the extensive network of lenders that we partner with allows us to help clients successfully navigate the more challenging market landscape,” Paul Coates, Head of the EMEA debt and structured finance team at CBRE said. “Matthew’s deep relationships with both lenders and sponsors will be a great asset as we look to build on the success of 2020.”
