Hines promotes sheds and beds heads as markets expand

Hines UK has promoted Greg Cooper to managing director. He was previously director of industrial and logistics and led Hines’ entry to the UK logistics market, increasing its logistics portfolio to approximately £500m across the firm’s discretionary funds and development joint ventures. There is over 1 million sq ft (92,903 sq m) of development due to start on site within the next 12 months.

Hines has also promoted Jurrien de Koning to managing director. He has been with the firm for eight years, the last five of which have been focused on the living sector, particularly student housing, where the firm has a UK portfolio of 5,500 beds, managed by its operating platform, Aparto.

“Hines UK has come a long way since its early incarnation as a London office developer,” said Head of Hines UK, senior managing director, Ross Blair. “The diversification of the business into a multi-sector investment and asset management firm has accelerated in the last three years. There is certainly more room for growth in both sectors where the fundamentals remain very strong and we are confident of further rental growth.”
