Praemia REIM takes full ownership of CAREIT’s asset and property management activities
Praemia REIM has increased its stake to 100% of the CAREIT Group’s asset management and property management activities, taking full ownership of the platform as of 30 December 2025.
The transaction completes more than ten years of collaboration between the two groups and follows Praemia REIM’s acquisition of a 51% stake in CAREIT’s asset and property management activities in 2020. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal strengthens the group’s position in healthcare and medical-social real estate and forms part of its strategy to consolidate an integrated European platform spanning investment, fund management, asset management, project management and property management. The acquisition was supported by Praemia REIM’s shareholders.
CAREIT’s asset and property management activities currently cover around 360 healthcare facilities managed for Praemia REIM. By taking full ownership, the group said it is reinforcing its leadership position in a sector supported by long-term demographic trends and sustained demand.

The transaction brings CAREIT’s asset and property management teams fully into Praemia REIM. Relevant CAREIT employees will join the group, bringing the total headcount to nearly 500 across Europe.
Filippo Monteleone, founder of CAREIT, will continue to support the group as senior adviser for development and institutional relations in the healthcare sector. CAREIT Group will continue its advisory, investment and real estate project development activities in healthcare and medical-social real estate.
Laurent Fléchet, chairman of Praemia REIM, said: “By increasing our stake to 100% in CAREIT’s asset management and property management activities, we are continuing our expansion and consolidating our European leadership in healthcare real estate. The integration of the CAREIT Asset & Property Management teams strengthens our expertise and our ability to create value, serving both our operator tenants and our investors.”
Filippo Monteleone said: “For ten years, we have supported Praemia in building its healthcare offering. I am delighted to continue supporting, in my new role, this European leader in real estate asset management.”
The European healthcare real estate platform totals €17 billion of assets under management, accounting for around 51% of Praemia REIM’s €35 billion of assets under management. The portfolio comprises more than 750 properties, including clinics, retirement homes, nursing homes and other medical-social facilities, across eight European countries.
