GetLiving forward funds Hub’s £155m UK residential project

Build-to-rent operator Get Living is forward funding a 429-home project in UK town Maidenhead being developed by Hub and Norwegian company Smedvig and has agreed a £155 million deal.
The project is the first phase of a scheme to revitalise the centre of the Berkshire town and is the first time Get Living has backed a development outside the UK’s major cities.
Known as The Landing, the development will also provide 23,000 sq ft (2,137 sq m) of ground floor retail space, car parking and public realm on the 3.5-acre town centre site. Construction will start immediately.
Two further phases of the mixed-use project, designed by architect Studio Egret West, will provide 104,000 sq ft (9,662 sq m) of office space and another 15,000 sq ft (1,394 sq m) of ground floor retail and leisure space.
The site is adjacent to Maidenhead railway station, where Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) trains will run in 2022.

“This is a landmark deal for Hub, being both our ninth forward funding deal and our largest to date,” said Hub managing director Damien Sharkey. “The scheme we will now deliver is particularly important for Maidenhead, being on a pivotal site for the town and based on designs developed through extremely close consultation with the local community.”
Construction is expected to complete in Q4 2024.
