Henderson Park and Cole Waterhouse have are close to commencing development of a potentially 1.8 million sq ft logistics project in UK county Yorkshire. Konect 62, is a tri-modal logistics and industrial scheme.
Following the £54 million acquisition of a 136-acre site at at the junction of the M1 and M62 motorways, the developers have signed a development debt facility with BentallGreenOak and appointed the main contractor, McLaren Construction Group.
Phase One will see the speculative development of 1.1 million sq ft, energy efficient warehouse space in four units. These include ‘Big K’ a 735,000 sq ft unit, one of the largest ever delivered in the North of the UK,
Konect 62 has planning consent for 1.4 million sq ft of prime logistics accommodation, however plans are under review to enlarge the scheme to c. 1.8 million sq ft.
Christophe Kuhbier, managing director at Henderson Park, said: “This strategically located site is optimally placed to deliver much needed capacity into the critically undersupplied Yorkshire industrial market, with local vacancy rates of 2.2%.”
DTRE and Sixteen Real Estate are acting as joint letting agents for the scheme.
