COP26 host Glasgow shows cities the route to zero carbon

While the world’s eyes are on Glasgow because of its role as host to COP26, generally regarded as the make-or-break meeting of the world’s leaders in terms of climate change, the city is more than just a backdrop to a crucial world event.
Glasgow is itself undergoing a transition. Putting its heavy industrial past behind it, the city has become something of a model for climate change reduction, having already cut its carbon emissions by 41% since 2006.

The city’s real assets – property and infrastructure – are at the heart of the transformation which is explored in the latest edition of Real Asset Impact magazine.
Glasgow recently unveiled its Greenprint for Investment and we examine this in full along with the 10 “shovel-ready” projects which provide investors with a range of opportunities to be involved in the city’s transformation.
“The success of COP26 will be measured by how cities can take the practical steps necessary to secure the future of our planet. Our Greenprint provides a major part of our roadmap to doing just that,” said the leader of Glasgow City Council, Susan Aitken.
