Bridge follows UK debut with more London shed schemes

US-headquartered Bridge Industrial has acquired development sites in Barking and Uxbridge bringing to three the number of projects on its books in the UK since it opened a London office in November 2020.

The company has just bought the freehold of River House on the Riverside Industrial Way, Uxbridge, west of London from Starlight Designs.

The asset consists of a production, warehouse and office unit on a 2.30-acre (0.93 hectare) site. Bridge will demolish the existing building when the occupier vacates next May and will build a 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) Class A industrial facility that will be built speculatively to serve the last-mile logistics sector. The project is due for completion in Q1 2023.

Cogent Real Estate represented Bridge and Savills advised Starlight Designs.

Mercedez site lined up in Barking

Bridge has also bought the former Mercedes Benz commercial vehicle dealership on Alfreds Way, Barking. Mercedes Benz Retail Group sold the building with vacant possession. Currently an office building and separate warehouse, the 2.15-acre (0.87 hectare) site will be developed to provide a 50,000 sq ft Class A industrial building and construction will start next April.

DTRE acted for Bridge and Colliers represented Mercedes Benz Retail Group.

In May, Bridge announced its first acquisition in North West London, Bridge Point Southall, a Class A industrial facility that is expected to be completed by Q1 2023.

The company said that it is pursuing land and development opportunities throughout Greater London, and the UK’s South East and West Midlands regions.
