ULI Europe excellence awards finalists face ‘whole new reality’
Ten finalists have been announced in the 2021 ULI Europe Awards for Excellence. The award recognises projects from across the EMEA region that exemplify best land use practice.
The winners will be announced in early July and will go on to be included in judging for the 2021 ULI Global Awards for Excellence later in the year.
The finalists include:

- Promprylad.Renovation, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine
- Windmill Green, Manchester, UK
- Wokingham Town Centre Regeneration, Wokingham, UK
GcS& Partners chairman Giancarlo Scotti, chair of the 2021 ULI Europe Awards for Excellence jury said this year has given the jury an even more difficult task as projects were designed and developed pre-Covid “but, in operation, will experience a whole new reality which hasn’t even fully come through yet.”
The awards have been devised to recognise projects that achieve: marketplace acceptance/financial success; a high standard of excellence in all areas; relevance to the contemporary and future needs of the community in which they are located; a positive impact in their communities; environmental sustainability, stewardship, and resiliency; provide models, lessons, strategies, or techniques that other communities can replicate or adapt.
The jury, which will be selecting winners in the next few weeks, includes Clarissa Alfrink, Avison Young; Theodore Charagionis, Charagionis Group; Sigrid Duhamel, BNP Paribas REIM France; Manfred Guenterberg, Wolfsburg AG; Sophie Henley-Price, Studios Architecture; Karolina Kaim, High Level Advisory; Tinka Kleine, PGGM; Vanessa Muscarà, Europa Capital; and Petran van Heel, Eteck Energy.
