Panattoni Netherlands is to speculatively develop a logistics distribution centre Heerenberg, close to the border between Holland and Germany, the firm’s eighth project in the Netherlands.
The project will be built on the last available site in the DocksNLD distribution park which was designated as a logistic hotspot by the local municipality, Montferland, in 2015.
DocksNLD is located beside the A12 and Germany’s A3 highway, is close to the Rhine-Waal inland shipping container terminal and already includes occupants such as Mainfreight, JCL Logistics, DSV, Rabelink Logistics and Pon Logistics.
Panattoni’s project consists of a 21,300 sq m warehouse, 550 sq m of offices and a 1,915 sq m mezzanine. The distribution centre will have a clear height of 12.20 meters, 21 docks and 35 truck parking spaces.
The project is expected to be completed in May 2022 and will meet the BREEAM Very Good standard.
“The DocksNLD site also has the advantage that 17 million people live and work within a radius of 100 kilometres. This also gives us excellent access to both the consumer- and the labour market,” said Jeroen Gerritsen, general manager, Panattoni Netherlands.
