Panattoni Netherlands has commenced speculative development of a logistics distribution centre at Wessem, in the Limburg region in the south of the country.
The project will provide 23,450 sq m of space including a 21,075 sq m warehouse which will have 20 loading docks. The development is targeting a BREEAM “Very Good” rating when the building is delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
Distribution center Wessem will be adjacent to the A2 motorway and is close to the German border. There are also four airports within an hour’s drive.
Wessem is Panattoni’s second project in Limburg. In June, the company began development of two distribution centres in Roermond, totalling 43,255 sq m.
“We see a lot of future in Central and South Limburg, because we notice that there is good availability of personnel to be able to properly staff the distribution centres,” said Jeroen Gerritsen, general manager Panattoni Netherlands.
Panattoni Netherlands is part of Panattoni Europe which has developed 10 million sq m in Europe.
