British Land CFO Carter to replace departing CEO Grigg

UK Property company British Land, developer of mixed-use campuses at London’s Broadgate, Paddington and Regents Place, is to appoint its present chief financial officer Simon Carter to replace CEO Chris Grigg when he steps down in November this year.

Grigg, British Land’s CEO for the last 11 years, will part with the board and the company on 31 December 2020.

Carter has been British Land CFO since returning to the company in May 2018. He was previously CFO at warehouse specialist Logicor and finance director at Quintain Estates & Development, the developer and owner of the 85-acre Wembley estate in London. Prior to that Carter had been with British Land for more than 10 years.

British Land chairman Tim Score said Grigg has led the business with distinction. “He has been instrumental at putting placemaking, sustainability, design excellence and a focus on the customer at the heart of how we do business,” he said.
