Poland’s pandemic response put First Half among the best
Although Germany has been identified as the country that has best managed the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the countries of the CEE region are not far behind according to Skanska Commercial Development Europe head of divestments Adrian Karczewicz.
Interviewed by Real Asset Media’s Richard Betts, Karczewicz said that it is important for investors to know that the monetary and fiscal actions and the fast and strict lockdowns employed have been effective in the CEE countries.
Karczewicz says that although the Covid 19 pandemic has hit real estate investment sale volumes world-wide, Poland has nevertheless had one of the best half years ever. This is largely due to the performance of the logistics real estate sector but can also be attributed to the strength of the offices market.
For instance, during this period, in June, Skanska signed its biggest lease ever with the letting of 47,000 sq m in its Generation Park Y building in Warsaw to insurance company PZU Group.
