Wave of challenges increases need for CEE’s living sectors

The residential or ‘living’ real estate sectors in CEE are facing new challenges including rising interest rates and inflation, which is pushing up construction costs, but there are also positive factors, says Dorota Wysokinska-Kuzdra, Senior Partner, Colliers, Poland.

Speaking during the recent ULI Europe conference in Brussels she said that there was a residential supply gap before the war in Ukraine. Now with millions of Ukrainian refugees in Poland and neighbouring countries “the residential market is something that both the private sector and also the public sector should think about and is thinking about.”

Wysokinska-Kuzdra said that for that reason her firm is actively encouraging clients to enter the residential markets or to expand their presence in them.
