Senior housing’s data richness gives an edge on other sectors

A key advantage that senior housing has over other real estate investment segments such as offices or shopping centres, is the access to good data.

“One of the key opportunities for investors in senior housing is that we have quite good databases,” said Dr Stefan Voß, partner at international law firm CMS.

He said that it is much easier to judge future demand than is the case in the office or shopping centre categories.

“It’s unpredictable what the future will bring, but if you have a demographic factor, it’s quite sure that there’s increasing need for such places, which is an interesting position for international investors.”
