Next phase energy transition opportunities suit institutions
Over the last 15 years, renewable energy has become a very broad infrastructure related investment opportunity for institutional investors, according to Thomas Engelmann, head of energy transition, KGAL.
He said that it is still very important to invest in renewable, but it is also very important to address CO2 emissions.
“We believe that the market is now right and ready for going to the next step of energy transition,” he told Real Asset Insight’s Richard Betts.
He added that stable technologies are available in the market but they need to be scaled up to reduce their costs.
While emerging technologies are the province of venture capitalists, for institutional investors infrastructure is a better fit for investment.
