Grid limitations challenge PV deployment for Dutch logistics

While the desire to invest in energy solutions is strong in the logistics and industrial real estate sector, the difficulties of feeding power generated back to the grid detract from installing PV panels said Niek Poppelaars, co-head logistics and industrial, Netherlands, Savills.

“We see some initiatives like big battery storage on site, charging stations on site for trucks and also   cars. We also see that a lot of companies are working together to create a so-called ‘internal grid’ where they share the power that they that they get from the solar panels,” Poppelaars explained at the publication of the Savills/Tritax Occupier Census 2023 results.
