Expansion planned by 90% of Europe’s logistics occupiers

Almost 90% of logistics real estate occupiers are in expansion mode which was the key takeaway statistic in the recent European Logistics Census according to Savills’ head of logistics and industrial research Kevin Mofid.

Results of the census, conducted by Savills, Tritax and Analytiqa, were recently released.

“We’ve had record levels of take up for logistic space across Europe in 2020. The first half of 2021 has exceeded long-term averages by around 60% on a Pan-European basis and that to me suggests that 2021 is going to be a another record year,” Mofid added.

He said that occupier expansion intentions have always proven to be a leading indicator for the next two or three years.
