Decade of change comes to a head as trends accelerate

CMS partner Clare Thomas reviews the law firm’s latest annual report which, with its predecessors, has charted the dramatic changes that have occurred in real estate over the past decade.

These shifts have included the rise of global investment, the arrival of proptech, the ascendancy of residential and logistics asset classes, Brexit and changing attitudes to “the office”.

CMS surveyed a large swathe of the property industry to judge sentiment, not least on the home-versus-office debate that has been inflamed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
