Former Arup chief economist joins London Property Alliance

London Property Alliance has appointed Alexander Jan as its chief economic adviser. Formerly Arup’s chief economist for over a decade, Jan will help to shape LPA’s research on the capital’s post-Covid recovery.

The London Property Alliance brings together the Westminster Property Association and the City Property Association to provide a unified voice for the leading owners, developers, investors and professional advisors of real estate across the City, the West End and their neighbouring commercial districts.

The chief economic adviser role is a part-time consultative post and is a first for the organisation and will be instrumental in helping to shape its research and insight on the capital’s post-Covid recovery. Until last year, Jan was Arup’s chief economist where he had worked for more than a decade.

At Arup, he led a range of projects ranging from creating London’s first infrastructure plan, through to business rates reform and assessing the impacts of Crossrail on property values.
