DeVos appointed LaSalle IM’s new head of ESG strategy

LaSalle Investment Management has appointed former PGIM sustainability chief David DeVos as its global head of ESG. Meanwhile, Elena Alschuler has joined the firm as vice president of sustainability in the Americas.

DeVos will be responsible for building LaSalle’s global ESG strategy and objectives. He will also drive program execution in partnership with the firm’s regional sustainability officers, senior leadership and portfolio stakeholders.

LaSalle Investment Management said that his oversight will include specific ESG programs, such as initiatives on climate change and health and wellness, in addition to playing a central role in the the firm’s reporting activities for clients and industry benchmarks. DeVos will report to LaSalle Global chief operating officer Tim Kessler.

DeVos previously worked for PGIM Real Estate as chief sustainability officer, prior to which he worked in architectural and sustainability-focused roles for Kohl’s Department Stores.

Elena Alschuler, who will act as a central leader for LaSalle’s North America sustainability initiatives joins LaSalle from View Inc, prior to which she worked at the US Department of Energy in Washington, DC as a building technologies project manager.
